Last month, we asked you to focus on your interactions in the world and your resultant thoughts. You were given an exercise to increase the positive focus of your thoughts. This month, we will discuss harnessing the thoughts we have which are not necessarily precipitated by an action or an interaction.
Humans have a notably remarkable capacity to give unbridled abandon to their thoughts. Unmanaged, these thoughts will lead to unknown or unselected destinations. By harnessing the power of this energy, however, a target can be selected and given aim. The profundity of information available regarding the limitlessness of thought energy (through science, philosophy, historical accounts, religions, etc.) demonstrates this power. How can you direct your thoughts instead of allowing your thoughts to direct you? How can you harness this energy for your benefit?
The suggestions we make are immensely beneficial when implemented. Challenge yourself to focus on and implement them to see a difference in the consequence of your thought energy.
First, understand that your thought patterns are just that … patterns. Habits. Routine. Your thoughts are not you; they are typically an unorganized reaction to the happenings around you, present and past. With some dedication you can break the habit of having your thoughts be reactionary rather than purposeful. If you intend to break into the next level of excellence in a sport, a career, or playing an instrument, you do so by first determining what actions are necessary to reach the goal. Once determined, you can then assess your present habits to discover which habits are not aligned with the goal and replace them with goal-oriented strengths. Those who reach heightened success levels frequently have a coach (ie: a career coach, a vocal coach, a gymnastics coach, a life coach). Find yourself a coach. It need not be a formalized relationship, but find someone whose life you respect or admire. Understand that the life they created was created first in their thoughts. Ask this person to be your “thoughts coach” perhaps through a 5-minute daily conversation. During your coaching time, tell your coach about your non-productive thoughts of the day. Allow him or her to guide you to refreshing perspectives and then deliberately choose to focus on the enlightened focus for the five minutes following the conversation.
Convinced that you do not have someone who can act as your “thoughts coach”? Think about a partner, friend, sibling, teacher, neighbor, boss, etc. Among your connections, there is likely at least one person who supports your intention to create an improved life. If you are still coming up coach-less, be your own coach. Instead of having a designated five-minute conversation with someone else, have a dedicated five-minute conversation with yourself. Review your daily thoughts and ferret out those which brought you discomfort. With pen and paper (or keyboard), write down the opposite of those uncomfortable thoughts. Read, reread, and reread again those improved ideas during the following five minutes. Make this practice as much of a habit as brushing your teeth. Make it routine. Make it a habit. Make it essential.
The simple task of scanning your day for non-productive thoughts (with a coach or individually) will assist you in breaking the non-productive wanderlust habit of your thoughts and replace the practice with a productive, targeted pattern. This technique takes dedication as any new level of excellence takes focus and practice, but pays great dividends. A consistent stream of optimistic, high vibrational energy thoughts will, over time, result in a higher vibrational life.

“I just wanted you to know that I am still reeling from the session. It was sooo very powerful, loving and wonderful. I felt so comfortable with you and when you were speaking I could feel the love coming through. It’s difficult putting the experience into words, so thank you, thank you, thank you! I have had many reading and this was by far the clearest and most helpful to me. You have such a positive message that really needs to be heard at this time on EARTH. Anxiously anticipating our next session!!!”
